Perth, Australia is almost like a 2nd home country as most of my family members are in Perth, Melbourne, Brisbane & Sydney.
1st trip was when I was 4 years old and i remember celebrating my 4th Birthday there with a home-made Mickey Mouse birthday cake made by my Aunt Sylvia Was also enrolled into their Kindie during our stay.
Ever since then, i would be travelling to Perth almost every 4 years especially nearer to Christmas with my Granny (did about 7 trips if my memory does not fail me).
Below are some of the amazing places that you should not miss when
you’re in Perth:
Kingspark & Botanic Garden:
Kings Park is a huge park overlooking Perth Water
and the central business district of Perth, Western Australia. The park is a
mixture of grassed parkland, botanical gardens and natural bushland on Mount
Eliza with two-thirds of the grounds conserved as native bushland.
Swan Valley:
Description
The Swan Valley is a region in the upper reaches of the Swan River
between Guildford and Bells Rapids, Western Australia. The cruise along swan
river is quite enjoyable getting to look at the fancy bungalows at the
riverside.
Margaret River & Chocolate Factory:
Located in
the historic Swan Valley wine region just 20 minutes from Perth's CBD The
Margaret River Chocolate Company is a must do attraction for visitors to
Western Australia and locals alike.
The Swan
Valley factory and tasting centre offers Free entry and Free tastings, as well
as viewing windows to see all the action and hundreds of delicious chocolate
products.
The
Chocolate Cafe at the Swan Valley is one of the most popular destinations in
the Swan Valley and can seat up to 120 people, with tables both indoors and
outdoors on the sun-deck, overlooking the gardens and river
Sister company Margaret River Providore is located on the same property, with a huge range of preserves, chutneys, olive oils, award-winning wines and a not-to-be-missed chocolate liqueur.
The Swan Bell Tower:
The Swan Bells are a set of 18 bells hanging in a
specially built 82.5-metre-high copper and glass campanile in Perth, Western
Australia. The tower is commonly known as The Bell Tower or the Swan Bell Tower
as it resembles the feature of a Swan
Freemantle port / market:
Fremantle Fishing Boat Harbour is an Australian
commercial marina in Fremantle, Western Australia adjacent to the more recently
constructed Challenger. Fish & chips are also a must to get.
Cicerello’s Fish & Chips are one of the favourites.
Caversham Wildlife Park:
Caversham Wildlife Park is a wildlife park currently located in Whiteman Park in Western Australia. It is home to several Australian animals including kangaroos, koalas, possums, wallabies, wombats and Tasmanian devils. It was originally located in the locality of Caversham. The park lets you to roam around and feed the animals getting up close to our furry friends. I must have for kids.
Hay street - London Court:
Hay Street is a major road through the central business district of Perth, Western Australia block in the central business section is now a pedestrian mall with extremely limited vehicular traffic.
London
Court is a three- and four-level
open-roofed shopping arcade located in the central business district in Perth, Western Australia. The arcade runs between the Hay Street Mall and St Georges Terrace and is considered an important
tourist attraction in the City of Perth. It does give a feel of being in
Ancient London due to its building’s architecture.
Stirling Gardens:
Stirling Gardens is a small public park in Perth, Western Australia.
Located on the corner of St Georges Terrace and Barrack Street, west of the
Government House and north of the Supreme Court buildings, it contains a group
of significant sculpture items of its Kangaroos 🦘 Next to it is a public park with nice beautiful flowers and trees
surrounding the park.
Karakatta:
Karrakatta Cemetery is a metropolitan cemetery in the suburb of Karrakatta in Perth, Western Australia. My Late Beloved Granny’s memorial is maintained here and I would do the honour of paying my respects every time I’m in Perth.
Mandurah - Madora Bay:
Mandurah is a city on the southwest coast of Western Australia. It’s known for the Peel-Harvey Estuary with its abundant wildlife and migratory waterbirds.
The estuaries around Mandurah and the Peel-Harvey inlet are renowned hotspots for seeing
dolphins in the wild. Peel-Harvey is home
to about 80 Indo-Pacific Bottlenose Dolphins
Eateries:
Australia is famous for their Fish & Chips, BBQ Steaks and of cause
their signature burgers ar Hungry Jacks
If you’re staying on a landed property via Air B&B, do get some
steaks 🥩 and have a bbq. We had a superb bbq luncheon hosted by David and Linda
at Mandurah. Had the chance to grill a couple of steaks too.
If you’re looking for Halal Malaysian delicacies, there’s several
Malaysian Food Stalls and restaurants to try as well such as Little Malaysian
Cafe for your breakfast or tea time and Malaysian Dining Delights for Luncheons
and Dinners.
We try to visit our relatives before we head back to Malaysia and as
usual, there will be a lot of makan-makan.
